Welcome to the home of ADNE
The Association of District Nurse Educators (ADNE) is committed to raising the profile of District Nursing
Our purpose is in the educational preparation and support of District Nurses and other health care professionals working in primary and community care across the United Kingdom. ADNE members are qualified District Nurses, with extensive knowledge and experience of university education. This site has been launched as a resource for information about District Nursing, District Nurse education, to increase awareness of the educational needs of primary care nurses and to provide a forum for members to share ideas and research.
An analysis of community nursing services by the Queen's Nursing Institute shows that most people have an excellent experience, with the overall trust and confidence in the home nursing service being ‘high’. The vast majority of respondents rated their experience of seeing a district nurse as ‘good’, ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’
Findings of this QNI Nursing People at Home Report confirmed a core belief of ADNE members; that the quality of nursing care is directly linked to the educational preparation of nurses and other practitioners. The ADNE is dedicated to promoting excellence in community nursing care through the provision of high quality education.
